Practical information

Programme for 8 July

  • Liefs, Achilles – Pleun van Engelen
  • Fáfnir – Ana Lekše
  • Letterzetter in the evening sun

Liefs, Achilles - Pleun van Engelen

Achilles: the poster boy of Troy. The strongest, bravest and most handsome of all the Greek heroes. But who was he?

In a frenzied and comical stand-up tragedy, Pleun van Engelen explores the vulnerability of an indestructible hero. What do you do when your great role model spends days on end crying in his tent? Are old stories still of any use to us, or would we be better off doing away with them? Liefs, Achilles ('With Love, Achilles') is about always being alone, immortal jellyfish and not knowing which train to take.

Fáfnir - Ana Lekše

Fáfnir is a hair-hanging solo inspired by the mythical dragon of medieval bestiaries. Suspended by her hair, Ana Lekše transforms into a serpent-like creature, exploring the fragile boundary between beauty and monstrosity. Blending aerial movement, strength, and vulnerability, the act is an excerpt from Reverie of the Bestiaries, a new creation inspired by medieval creatures and myths.

Letterzetter in the evening sun

Letterzetter, the cabaret band – not the profession or the little creature – sings of every season, but on a summer’s evening, their music still resonates just that little bit longer.

Come and drift along on stories about everyone and no one in particular; lose yourself in the music and the voices. Stay a while longer to daydream, or dance. Dance!

Celebrate the summer evening and life together with this merry band, who play about small joys, the Great Depression and juicy adventures. With stories that slow you down and music that tells a tale.
