During this Mindful Movement workshop at WISPER, you will focus your attention on the present moment and how you can connect your dance expression to it. From a grounded position, you will find depth and authenticity in your dance.
You use movement to connect with your body, your senses and your awareness of what is happening in and around you. With a calm and conscious body and mind, you then turn your attention inward. Guided improvisation exercises and meditation techniques invite you to translate this deeper contact with your body and your inner world into freedom of movement. You will be given a safe space to explore what you feel, what your body needs and how you can embrace and express these inner experiences through dance. The techniques you explore will expand both your artistic and personal being, with more authentic and embodied expression.
