f|x|r and House of Arts Veszprém are delighted to announce the LOOP² Video Art Festival 2026.

This year’s theme: AFTERIMAGE

Some images do not end the moment they appear to disappear. They linger behind the eye, in our perception and our memory, and remain with us as reflections, vibrations and subtle traces. This year’s LOOP theme, Afterimage, refers to this enduring visual experience.

In the context of the bicentenary of photography, Afterimage is not merely an invitation to look back, but a question directed at the present: how does the image persist today, now that it is no longer merely captured, but constantly circulates, repeats itself, is processed, distorted and recreates itself? What remains after viewing? What disappears – and what only then begins to reveal itself?

They are inviting artists to submit original 20-second looped moving-image works, which will be presented in an immersive four-walled projection space. The space itself functions as a loop: it surrounds the viewer in 360 degrees, whilst the projected content constantly returns to itself, creating the experience of a double loop.

The works selected by the professional jury will be screened in a 3-minute rotation at the House of Arts Veszprém – f|x|r gallery.
