And So, Change Comes in Waves.
Art and science route in and around Leuven.
More than seventy researchers from KU Leuven engaged in dialogue with eight artists and an equal number of poets about pressing research themes and societal challenges such as climate, inclusion, and access to education. The result? Sixteen new artworks and poems in Leuven, featuring creations by Alicja Kwade, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Clara Spilliaert, Maud Vanhauwaert, and many others.
One of the highlights is Dwaaltuin (Wandering Garden) in Arenberg Park, a creation by the artist duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh. The structure, made up of hundreds of meters of curved steel, will gradually be overgrown by a vibrant collection of more than 90 climbing plants.
On May 17, the official opening of the art and science route will take place with a festive program, including artist talks, performances, and free guided tours.
