Conference Culture & Care: workshop What Does Nature Say?

Fri 27 February 2026 14.00u
Leuven

How does green space shape the way you feel? And what happens when nature is part of your daily city life? In this guided 3–30–300 walk, you explore Leuven through a green lens.

Simon Neerinckx (City of Leuven, Public Green Service), Raf Aerts and Simon Gabriël Beerten (researchers at KU Leuven) guide you through the city and share clear insights into the proven impact of green spaces on mental health. Science meets everyday experience, in a calm and accessible way.

This workshop invites you to slow down, look around and feel what green does to you. Step outside, breathe deeper and see the city differently.

You’ll also receive a beautifully designed map of the walk, with the route and key insights, so you can revisit the experience later, alone or with others.

Who can join?
There is room for 15 participants.

This workshop is part of the programme of the conference Culture & Care: A Joint Call for Change, which explores how culture and care can work together to respond to today’s complex societal challenges. By bringing art and care into dialogue, the conference opens up new perspectives, practices, and frameworks that enable lasting change and support the sustainable integration of culture and care at the heart of society. The conference is part of Body & Soul and LOV2030 - Leuven & Beyond European Capital of Culture 2030 and is an initiative of the Stad Leuven and KU Leuven, in collaboration with the Vlaamse overheid en Culture Action Europe's work on culture and health. This workshop is offered by LOV2030 – Leuven & Beyond European Capital of Culture 2030 – and fully aligns with its theme HumanNature, exploring new ways to reconnect humans and nature through care, listening and shared experience.
