Summit of LOV: after hours
On Monday 22 June, 70 enthusiastic participants from Leuven and the wider region gathered for Summit of LOV: after hours. This evening edition of the summit was entirely dedicated to associations, voluntary organisations and the strength of the region.
Following an inspiring hour in which the current state of LOV was discussed, along with the steps planned for the coming period, the floor was opened to the participants. During an open and constructive discussion, a great many questions and ideas were exchanged.
Those present showed great commitment and curiosity. Questions raised included the timing of the open calls, the further development of the chatbot on the website, the potential use of the social economy in future projects, and the involvement of De Lijn and NMBS in drawing up a mobility plan. There was also a strong desire to make it easier to get in touch with other associations in the region. In addition, participants enquired about potential budgets for infrastructure and wanted to know whether they could share their ideas now or whether it would be better to wait for a future open call.
The LOV team was able to provide an initial response to many of the questions straight away. The questions for which a definitive answer was not yet possible today will be taken forward to the autumn. The team will then get to work on them, ensuring that the participants’ input is incorporated into the next stages of the process.
The large turnout, the many questions and the constructive ideas demonstrate just how strong the sense of commitment is within the region. There is much to discuss as we continue the conversation after the summer and work with associations and organisations to further shape the region’s future.
