Summer Films - Chronicles of a Wandering Saint

The programme for Summer Films 2025 has plenty in store again this year: atmospheric short films, a live film concert, hidden gems and the grand comeback of cliché bingo. Films that missed the cinemas this year will be screened under the stars by Summer Films.

SATURDAY 2 AUGUST: CHRONICLES OF A WANDERING SAINT

Tragicomedy | Director: Tomás Gómez Bustillo, Cast: Iair Said, Mónica Villa, Pablo Moseinco, and others. Argentina, 2023, duration: 1:24, Dialogues: Spanish, Subtitles: English

Rita, a caretaker at a village chapel, is deeply religious but also very competitive. She feels unappreciated for her hard work and prays for a miracle that would bring her recognition. When she finds a lost statue of Mary, she sees her chance to claim her place as “Saint Rita”. This wondrous tragicomedy from Argentina is a charming and quirky gem, surprising, absurd and moving.
