Alumni Carillon Cantus

Io vivat! In 2025, the LOKO Leuven student umbrella organisation will once again bring thousands of students together for its triennial Carillon Cantus. For the first time in its history, this iconic student party will have a special alumni edition.

On May 15, KU Leuven and LOKO invite alumni past and present to this unique premiere. Over a pint (or a non-alcoholic alternative), they will join in singing their favorite student songs from the codex.

What makes the Leuven Carillon Cantus so unique? Known as the mother of all cantusses, it is the oldest and largest of its kind. As the name suggests, the singing is accompanied by the enchanting sounds of a carillon. The setting is equally remarkable: the awe-inspiring University Library, which houses one of the world’s largest carillons with its 63 bells. A student-style singing fest, absolutely—but also an essential piece of Leuven’s history.
